Mobile Web 2.0 history in the making?

Today a group of our students held their diploma presentation on aka-aki. The unusual thing is that they did not make a communication campaign for aka-aki, but they actually created it. The extremely positive reactions to their product and presentation plus the fact that they seem to be really smart make me think that I might have whitnessed the next big thing on the web 2.0 frontier.

After the event I was tempted to ask what their business model might be, but hoping to be acquired by Google, Yahoo or Holtzbrinck seems like a valid plan nowadays.

As of this week I am officially working at the Berlin University of the Arts, more precisely as a Research Associate and Lecturer at the Chair of Communication and Media Research.

Not only does this mean that I get to do lots of interesting research and teaching and web programming  in a highly motivated young team, I also have the opportunity (and obligation) to write a PhD thesis, preferably on some online communication topic.
