As of this year, I am in Stuttgart at the University of Hohenheim. Thorsten Quandt has offered me a full-time senior researcher position in the ERC-funded project on the Social Foundations of Online Gaming. I’m joining a great team and get to spend lots of time and money on gaming…Yay!

Mobile Web 2.0 history in the making?

Today a group of our students held their diploma presentation on aka-aki. The unusual thing is that they did not make a communication campaign for aka-aki, but they actually created it. The extremely positive reactions to their product and presentation plus the fact that they seem to be really smart make me think that I might have whitnessed the next big thing on the web 2.0 frontier.

After the event I was tempted to ask what their business model might be, but hoping to be acquired by Google, Yahoo or Holtzbrinck seems like a valid plan nowadays.
